Running Form Coaching in
Salt Lake City, Utah

Lisa Norden

After years of injuries and sub par performance on the run I was looking for a way to reconnect with my body and find a way back to running fast & free again.

Jae helped me navigate back to how to move well and feel connected when running. It was fascinating to see and experience how small movements done right transferred to such a massive change in how I felt when running.

Over time I went back to enjoy running and felt free, connected and fast again. I also ran my fastest 10k since 2013 just recently (summer 2024) which is much more than I’d hoped for or even thought was possible.

Break the Injury Cycle and Run Better than Ever

Injury recovery shouldn’t just get you back to “normal,” it should make you feel even better than before you got injured.

Most running injuries aren’t random; the root of your injury was likely already hidden in your running form before the pain started. Even after treatment these same imbalances remain, along with compensations your body developed to avoid further pain.

This is why runners coming back from injury often feel cautious, disconnected, and frustrated—running just doesn’t feel right anymore. And it’s also why research shows the most common cause of a running injury is a previous injury.

Jae helps runners break that cycle, clearing away hidden compensations and the original imbalances so you can reconnect with your body. You’ll run fluidly and naturally again, regaining the joy that made you love running in the first place. Your performances will begin rising towards your potential.

Injury prevention works exactly the same way. Jae identifies the issues in your form that are making running feel harder than it should and laying the groundwork for possible future injury. Then she helps you learn how to stop fighting your body so running feels the way you always knew it should and your performance can soar.

How It Works

During your session, Jae will do a thorough running form analysis and review your history to connect the dots your doctor or physical therapist may have missed. Then, through a hands-on Feldenkrais lesson, she’ll help you feel exactly what’s needed to improve your movement.

The lesson lets you:

  • Feel important subtleties in your movements that are impossible to detect while you’re running.
  • Safely experiment with new movement patterns without the risk of injury.
  • Experience better coordination so it becomes second nature the next time you run, without overthinking.

No more struggling to “just run differently.” If changing your form were that easy, you’d already have done it. This process makes the shift feel natural, and it’s safe, even if you’re currently injured.

Why It Works

Many runners feel stuck after working with coaches, physical therapists, or movement trainers. These professionals often provide detailed diagnosis and even gait analysis, but they aren’t able to help you go through this essential process for learning movement.

Despite what you may have heard, improving your form doesn’t need to take a long time. You’ll notice immediate improvements after every lesson—running more comfortably and confidently the very next day.

Plus, Jae will address any questions you have about:

  • Footwear and orthotics
  • Strength and flexibility training
  • How to avoid future injuries

Prices and Session Information

Your initial session will be 2 hours to allow an in-depth review of your history and analysis of your running form. Subsequent sessions are 90 minutes to ensure you leave the office having completed your next step in improving your form.

Our sessions are longer and more in-depth than typical physical therapy appointments (which can be as short as 15 minutes). But our prices are lower than the self-pay rate for comparable running injury clinic/physical therapy services in the Salt Lake area, which cost $263-$500 per visit.

  • Initial appointment: $300
  • 3 session package: $200/session ($600 total)
  • 7 session package: $172/session ($1200 total)

A discounted case-study rate is available, and we also have discounts for elite athletes, military, and first responders.

Our services are HSA/FSA eligible. We partner with Truemed to verify HSA/FSA eligibility; start the 2-minute process here.

Session packages can include the initial appointment. Simply book your initial session and decide whether to pay as part of a package or as a single session at the end of the visit. The effects of each session build on each other. While some runners experience breakthroughs in a single session, most benefit from a sequence of sessions to fully reach their potential.
